For this project on the wheel I made a planter and it makes me think of a garden because it's has that kind of design that could be used outdoors. In this project, I used the new skill of having to pull two walls. One art element that I had in my project was contrast between the two "walls" and also the space between the two "walls" were crucial to have because it could easily look silly if the two walls are separated a lot. This makes me think of nature because I can imagine this project being used to collect rain and release rain for some reason.
For this choice, I decided to make a tall cylinder on the wheel. It's glaze colors mix extremely well (shadow green and black satan). New skilled that I learned during this project was how to make a very definitive ring when footing. I used texture because the different glazes gave an effect where if someone looks at this project they will almost see a "slimy" texture. Also, I used movement because when I was pulling the way I made sure that the composition throughout the cylinder was equally thick. This cylinder makes me think of Washington/forest because it's a green color.
For this second bowl I made on the wheel, I would relate the glazing to a aqua theme. One new skill that I attained during making this project was how to splatter-glaze. The main art elements that were present in this project included: Color (the white and splatter of blue turned out great), Space (the circumference of the bowl was very important and I unfortunately made the base a little too big). Overall, this project gave me a bliss kind of feeling.
This cup that I made on the wheel had a bigger base, but a good sized handle to match the size of the cup. A new skill that I used in this project was learning how to make the pulled handle that I had to make with "bag clay" and water. Some art elements that I incorporated in my project are: Proportion and scale when creating the cylinder on the wheel to make sure it had the right-sized width, and emphasis on the handle of the cup. This cup makes me think of a tranquil mood because it's kind of a mug that reminds me of hot chocolate on a cold day.
This vase that I made on the wheel is not as big and tall as many vases, but it still would give a good look in the kitchen with smaller flowers in it. In the process of this project, I learned how to make a proper lip on the top of the vase. One art element that I included in my project was form because I had to make this 3-dimensional shape that also had to have incredible balance. This project expresses a "cute" kind of feeling because it's smaller vase.
