For my second extra credit project I made a bowl on the wheel. It has a wide/big diameter, but is very good to use for food/snacks. One skill that I had to use for this project was taking my blue tool and carving the shape of the bowl on my clay. The color of this project, brought out rhythm throughout this project. This bowl comes off as majestic because of it's glaze.
One of the extra credit project's I made this quarter was a tall cylinder. It was a little uneven, but it had a good-sized base. One skill that I used was making a "clear" base so that when I pulled up it was a lot easier. The form of this project, created balance in-between the diameters. This project gives off a tranquil mood. For my very last project in ceramics I made a tall project on the wheel. It obviously has some height to it and it's base is small. A very important skill that I used in this project was "pulling the wall" and making sure it was centered. The space that I used in this project created balance, which in result made it look pristine. This project makes me think about old, rusty, things because of the purposeful glaze i did. I made a bowl on the wheel for my first choice project this quarter. It has a small base and a pretty long diameter. When I was putting this project together, I used the skill of making a detailed foot ring because it's crucial to have a good foot ring for a bowl. The dripping texture in this project helped create movement throughout this project. This reminds me of rain because of the droplets. This is my wheel-altered project that I made on the wheel. It has a shape like a bowl and has the relative height of one, too. One skill that I used in this project was taking the blue tool and shaping a bowl into this square shaped prism. The shape that I had in this project, definitely emphasized the focus towards the square shape at the top of the "bow". This bowl has a laid back and mellow mood to it. For this "set of three" project I made three plates on the wheel. These plates are all three different sizes to better help fit the "set" theme. One skill that I had to use in the making of this project was using my palm of my hand to help flatten the plates. In this project, I included form that helped make it look like a unified set of plates. The feeling of these plates is home and eating snacks on my deck.
For my second extra credit project, I made a bowl off the wheel. The diameter is a little wide/big, but I think the overall size is great for snacks/foods. A skill I had to use in this project was using my blue tool to help carve the shape of a bowl. The color of this bowl, gives it rhythm and repetition. This project comes off as majestic because of it's glaze. I two plates for this assignment. One has a higher lip and wider base and the other has the opposite. One new skill that I had to use in this project was using my bottom part of my palm to help shape the plate more. Next, line was very important in this project to give it the shape it has at the end. The black plate makes me think of night because of black satan I used. The green plate gives off a surprised mood because of the pop it has with the droplets.
This project I made a tall cylinder on the wheel. It has a small base, which is very important when making a tall project. One new skill that I used was using two different glazes to make a pattern. The main element that I included in this project was form because of it's shape it presents. One of the most evident design elements that I incorporated into this project was pattern. This bowl reminds me of football because it's the team colors for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
